A read-only Markdown document at the colours of the theme — headings, lists, tables, task lists, coloured code, pictures — from a text or a file of the workstation. Introduced in 4.0.

• is_markdown shows a Markdown text, is_source a Markdown file (a path of the workstation, file:/// or https://); ue_loaded says when it is on screen, ue_load_failed(as_source, as_reason) why it is not (REASON_NOT_FOUND, REASON_TOO_LARGE, REASON_INSECURE, REASON_UNSUPPORTED, REASON_FAILED).
• CommonMark — ATX and Setext headings, emphasis, inline code, indented and fenced code blocks, block quotes, nested ordered and bullet lists, thematic breaks, links and images with a title, reference links, autolinks, backslash escapes, entities — plus the GitHub tables with alignment, task lists, strikethrough and bare www. / https:// links.
• Fenced code blocks are coloured by the colouring of the code editor, in the light and dark variants of the theme.
• Pictures of the workstation are read against the folder of the file; https:// and data:image/... pictures are shown; an http:// picture is refused.
• Links never navigate: ue_link_clicked(as_url) gives the address — resolved against the folder of the file for a relative link — and the application decides; a #heading link scrolls to its heading.
• Raw HTML written in a document is shown as text and never run; a javascript:, vbscript: or data: link is not clickable.
• of_toc returns the table of contents (text, level and anchor of every heading), of_scroll_to brings a heading to the top of the view.
• Search with highlight: of_search, of_search_next, of_search_prev, of_clear_search, of_match_count, of_match_index and ue_search_result; Ctrl+F opens a search box with its Aa (ib_find_match_case) and ab (ib_find_whole_word) toggles, F3 and Shift+F3 move between matches (ib_search_enabled gives the shortcut back to the application).
• of_refresh reads the file again, of_clear empties the view, of_print and of_print_to_pdf print the whole document; Ctrl+C copies the selected text.
• Large documents: a document of a megabyte appears at once, the rest drawn in the following moments.
• Keyboard and screen readers: links are reached with Tab and followed with Enter, headings, lists, tables and task boxes are announced as such; the document follows a right-to-left application, code blocks stay left to right.
